Alex the Plane is our concept for a micro-mapping location-based game to entertain children during travel and to enable a major airline to better connect with their customers.
Our vision for the project is based on the needs of the client and the needs of airline travelers, as discovered through research.
We propose to add value by encouraging positive interactions between the customer and the airline, attract foot traffic to airport retailers, and enhance the social media presence of the airline.
We envision a smartphone app that incorporates both a fun game for children to play and a detailed map for better navigating large airports. The map would have connections with retailer deals and discounts, allowing the customer to save time and money and increasing the visibility of airport businesses. The game would continue in-flight, to create a seamless experience from first setting foot in the home airport to landing finally at the destination.
At this stage in the project, we have designed the user interactions, game play, and developed a plan for integrating Alex the Plane into the current systems of our airline client. We are in the early stages of game development, with the goal of a minimum viable product in the next several months.
This project is connected to a major airline through a third-party client, and so unfortunately I cannot discuss detailed content on a public website. However, if you have further interest in the project, please do not hesitate to contact me!
